FEBRUARY 26th, Girls' Night Out, 6PM to 9PM. This fun event focuses on activities that appeal to women. Historic Main Street merchants stay open late for shopping, fashion shows, games, floral arranging, cooking demos, crafting demos, raffles, health and beauty demos, massage, restaurant specials, samplings of olive oil, wine, cheese, chocolate, and much more. MONTHLY, Third Saturday, Placerville Art Walk, 5PM to 9PM. Historic Downtown Placerville. Main Street galleries and merchants host changing art shows and late night shopping every third Saturday of the month. Demonstrations, refreshments, music and more. MAY 1st, Rhythm & Blooms May Day Party, 7M to 10PM. Help celebrate May Day & support a "grass roots" effort to beautify Historic Main Street with blooming flower baskets at this important beautification fundraiser. MAY 16th, Hangtown Car Show, 9AM to 3PM. Back by popular demand is the Hangtown Car Show on Historic Main Street, Placerville. Co-sponsored by Placerville Lions Club, Mother Lode Lions and the Placerville Downtown Association. Participation is limited by the number of spaces available. JUNE 12th - OCTOBER 10th, Banners on Parade. This community art project will feature over 30 artistically decorated banners on light poles along Main Street in Placerville. This is a collaborative effort of artists, businesses, organizations, individuals and city government that promotes the arts in historic downtown Placerville. These beautiful banners will be seen on Main Street will be for sold at a Silent Auction at the October 17th Art & Wine Festival, as well. JUNE 26th, Bell Tower Brewfest, 6PM to 9PM. This popular Placerville event will be hosted again by downtown merchants and will include a street closure for added enjoyment and safety for all patrons. Entertainment will feature several live bands up and down Main Street. If you are interested in sampling over 40 different micro-brews, tickets will need to be purchased for patrons over 21 years of age. TICKETS ARE LIMITED for the brew-tasting and expected to sellout before that evening, so plan on getting them early. They will go on sale in late May for $30 at River City Bank and Tony Matthews in Placerville. Or, tickets can be purchased in May online with a credit card at www.placerville-downtown.org . AUGUST 8th, Craft Faire, 8AM - 3PM in Historic Downtown Placerville. Main Street closes to host the 14th Annual Craft Faire with over 100 artisans from all over the West featuring pottery, woodwork, quilted and decorating items, dolls, garden items, soaps, candles, jewelry, food, and much, much more. OCTOBER 16th, Art & Wine Festival, 6PM - 9PM. Over 35 foothill wineries will offer samples of their wines inside merchant locations on Historic Main Street in Placerville. In addition, the works of many local artists will be featured and the "Banners on Parade" community art project will be displayed with the banners to be auctioned for sale that evening. Music at The Bell Tower, art demonstrations & hors d'oeuvres, too. TICKETS ARE LIMITED for the wine-tasting (but the music is free) and will be available for $30 each in September at Main Street merchants or by visiting www.placervilledowntown.com. OCTOBER 31st, Trick or Treat on Main Street, 4PM to 6PM in Historic Downtown Placerville. Historic Main Street merchants will provide goodies to trick-or-treaters (while supplies last) in a safe and convenient environment. Sponsored by Historic Main Street merchants. NOVEMBER 26th, Festival of Lights, 5:30PM - 8PM on Historic Main Street in Placerville. The old-fashioned festivities will close Historic Main Street and begin around 5:30PM at various locations up and down Main Street with music, entertainment, Santa, stagecoach rides, Holly Jolly Trolley rides (to outlying parking lots), and the tree-lighting at 6PM at the Courthouse.
